You've got questions,

I've got answers.

What ages do you work with?

You can begin sleep training your child when they hit 12 pounds or 4 months (whichever comes first) sometimes a little earlier if given the OK by your pediatrician. I work with little ones from 0--48 months!  I have my sub certification as a newborn specialist.

I still feed my child at night, can I still sleep train?

YES YES YES! You absolutely can still feed your child at nap and overnight and sleep train them. I do ask that my clients consult with their pediatrician for their advisement on how many feedings your child needs based on their weight. We will pay close attention to behavior around night feedings to know which ones are necessary and which ones your child is using just as a sleep crutch.

How long does sleep training take?

Two weeks is considered the critical window for teaching independent sleep. However the skill of falling asleep independently can be learned very quickly (matter of days with our son). Getting your child's naps to the length that they "should" be for their age can take a couple of weeks, sometimes longer. Please note that consistency is key here, and sleep training will not work if you are not 100% committed to it.

What if I don't want ANY tears?

Wanting to respond to your baby's cries is natural and biological maternal response. As a mom, I totally understand this instinct. Where it gets tricky is when our instincts can sometimes interfere with out babes expressing themselves. I believe that a "no-cry" approach does not allow our babes the opportunity to express themselves while they learn something new. In addition, reacting to each cry can over stimulate then which in turn makes it even more difficult for them to fall asleep.

With that being said, over the rainbow only offers gentle sleep methods, and customized plans that work with both YOU+ YOUR baby's comfort level.

What are sleep associations?

Sleep associations are props that help your child fall asleep- they can be both positive and negative. For example rocking your newborn to sleep may be useful for them, but rocking a 2 year old to sleep would be tiresome, and prevent restorative sleep. I help you eliminate these negative associations and replace them with healthy, positive ones for long-term success.
